The data visualized in this dashboard is drawn from a field survey conducted in 2024 as part of the Haretna Neighborhood-Based Socio-Economic and Labor Market Assessment. The survey targeted youth and working-age adults between the ages of 18 and 39 in three underserved neighborhoods: Hayy Tamlis (Beirut), Hayy Terab (Tripoli), and Hayy Taamir (Saida). A total of 1,203 individuals participated in the survey, distributed as follows: 402 respondents in Tamlis, 401 in Terab, and 400 in Taamir. The sample included both residents and individuals who spend significant time in the area for work, education, or other daily activities.

Using data from the 2022 Labour Force Survey by CAS and the ILO, this essay explores gender disparities in labor force participation, unemployment, formality of employment, and access to social protections. The insights help inform inclusive labor policies and gender-equity interventions.

Income by sector
In Lebanon’s vulnerable urban neighborhoods, being employed doesn’t necessarily mean earning enough to live. While employment rates reveal who is working, a more important question is: how much are they earning—and in which sectors? This dual-layer analysis, based on data from Hayy Terab (Tripoli), Hayy Taamir (Saida), and Hayy Tamlis (Beirut), examines both the distribution of workers across income brackets by sector and the relative earning power of each sector using a four-curve income ranking.
